Hands 2 Help, LLC Drug Free Workplace Policy
CHEMICAL IMPAIRMENT
In order to offer the fullest protection for clients and employees, as well
as maximum efficiency in the workplace, the possession, use of or offering of
any alcohol, prohibited drugs or inhalants either on agency property or in a
client residence, will not be tolerated. This applies to all employees and is
a condition of employment.
Definitions:
Substance Abuse: The use of any substance to the extent that
impairs the judgment,
reflexes or mental competency of the user.
Prohibited Drugs: Any controlled substance obtained without
an appropriate
prescription.
Possession: The presence of drugs or alcohol within an employee’s
personal area,
including automobile.
Any employee whose behavior and actions suggest the presence
of a mind altering substance will be subject to disciplinary
action. The allegation of chemical impairment will be confirmed by appropriate
urine testing. The employee will be given the opportunity to
explain a positive test result prior to any further action.
Results of the drug test will be kept in a confidential
file by the Administrator.
Employees who are identified as chemically impaired will be referred to a chemical
assistance program. Applicants will be referred for further testing.
Any employee found to be in violation of this policy will be subject
to immediate employment termination.
Employees who are using a prescribed medication are encouraged to inform the
Clinical Supervisor. The information will be confidential.
Compliance with this policy and consent to drug testing is a condition
of employment.
INSPECTION OF WORK AREAS AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Hands2help,
LLC. reserves the right to search work areas, desks, lunch boxes, briefcases,
purses and
other personal property belonging to employees for illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons
or stolen property.
Hands2help, LLC. will only conduct searches when there is reasonable
cause to believe that an employee
may have these article in his or her possession.
If any of these articles are in plain sight,they may be confiscated
at any time.
Employees have no reasonable expectation of privacy and may not withhold permission
for such a search.
