At-home caregivers can get information and help through upcoming monthly workshops. We want to reach out to people who are just starting out on the journey as a caregiver - especially for people who assume that role suddenly and unexpectedly, it can be difficult to get help or information. The workshops are geared toward anybody providing care in their home to a disabled or elderly family member or any other person with special needs. At-home caregivers can often save those with special neesd from being sent to an institution, but it can be a daunting task. Our goals are to increase people's
competence in what they are doing in caring for these loved ones; to increase
confidence and decision making by providing information; to empower caregivers
to interact within the health care system. Subjects will include finding resources
for assistance, living wills, home safety and precautions, the normal aging process,
dementia, crime and the elderly (prevention of fraud), abuse and neglect as well as
nutritional guidelines. All workshops are from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
and are absolutely FREE. Dates and Locations:
